Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Jamieson Nichols is a 2005 graduate of St. Georges University veterinary school in Grenada, West Indies. She completed a one-year rotating general internship at the University of Minnesota in 2006 and a one-year neurology specialty internship at the Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson (VSCOT) in 2007. Dr. Nichols remained on staff at VSCOT as an emergency clinician until she moved back home to Chicago in 2009 to begin a career in shelter medicine. She completed a one-year fellowship in shelter medicine at PAWS Chicago in partnership with Purdue University and remained on staff at the shelter until she began her graduate program at Purdue University. Her professional interests include shelter medicine, infectious disease, dentistry, and neurology. Dr. Nichols shares her home with a small pride of bossy felines and one very tolerant dog, Marley. When not entertaining the whims of her cats, Dr. Nichols enjoys walking and hiking with Marley, reading (with a cat on her lap), baking, and following Guster (her favorite band) on tour around the U.S.
