Veterinarian Overview
Dr Dunnavant is a life long resident of Chesterfield County. He graduated from Meadowbrook High School in 1966. Dr Dunnavant went to Va Tech and graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science in 1970 and received his D.V.M. degree from the University of Georgia in 1973. Dr Dunnavant returned to Chesterfield where he spent his first year in practice at the Startford Hills Veterinary Center as an associate with the late Dr Jerome Beller. He then practiced at the Chesterfield Veterinary Clinic and the Chester Animal Clinic with the late Dr. H.O. Lyne, III until he founded the Iron Bridge Animal Hospital in 1979. He has continued to practice here to present day. Dr Dunnavant is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, the Veterinary Information Network, and the Richmond Academy. He is on the Board of Directors as the Medical Director of the Chesterfield County Humane Society and is one of its charter members. Dr Dunnavant also serves as the veterinarian for the Chesterfield County Animal Shelter.
