If I could personally review JUST Manuela Scannell, DVM, I would give her an overall rating of MAYBE a 2(and that’s being generous). We had to put our 7 year old dog down at Alta View and this “veterinarian” was beyond unprofessional, lacked sympathy, seemed to be lacking the appropriate medical training needed to euthanize, poor communication skills and simply did not listen to what our family had to say. When it came time to euthanize they took our dog out of the room to start an IV line and give a sedative (which was fine) and upon returning with our dog, she asked us SEVERAL times what his symptoms were (like it matters at this point), she very clearly did not read his chart prior to entering the room, she seemed to have no idea of our dogs history (and Yes we did bring him in just a few weeks prior this appointment ), she did not ask if we wanted a minute with him prior to injecting the medication, just started to inject it immediately. She then proceeded to TAP our dog’s eyeball to see if he was gone and check fora heart beat, he was still alive. She then attempted to inject another syringe and struggled to effectively do this for several minutes. She did not explain what was happening at this point, just said “sometimes this happens”. She then tapped his eyeballs again and checked for her a heart rate. Thankfully, at this point he was gone. She then left the room without much compassion nor did she ask if we had any questions.
