Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Mabie knows his veterinary medicine. He has been caring for pets and their owners for over 35 years. He energizes his staff with exemplary leadership and sensitive encouragement. Dr. Mabie actually came from the wrong side of the tracks, Virginia. His circuitous route to West Virginia includes 4 years of honorable service in the United States Coast Guard, and graduation, in 1981, from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A & M University. In 1987, with a vision of his own hospital, and with a few remodeling changes to the old Winfield Motel, Country Roads was established. Dr. Mabie, along with his wife, Debbie, and their youngest daughter of 4 children, reside locally, enjoying the small town community. His palate runs to all dishes hot and spicy, egg salad, and lemon pound cake. In rare moments of spare time, he rides his motorcycle and reads books of history and classic literature; his favorite book being the book of eternity.
