Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Neal is a native of Tucson. She graduated from U of A in 1996 and went to Colorado State University to receive her DVM degree in 2000. Her experience is in equine medicine, general practice and in shelter medicine. A recent recipient of the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerces 40 under 40 Award, Dr. Neal has also been recognized by her service to many other veterinary organizations, such as the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association and the Association of Shelter Veterinarians. Dr. Neal recently left the Humane Society of Southern Arizona after seven years of service and is excited to go back into general practice for pets with owners at Santa Cruz Vet Clinic! She is so grateful to Dr. Riley for all of his support and helping her transition into private practice ownership, a life-long dream of hers! Dr. Neals passion involves offering access to low cost care to pet owners. She is active with Soul Dog Rescue in the Four Corners region, volunteering at high volume spay and neuter clinics twice a year on the Navajo Reservation, as well as volunteering her spay/neuter services for the Hopkins Belize Humane Society in the Stann Creek district in Belize once a year. Dr. Neal also recently revived the monthly spay and neuter clinics offered at Dr. Mike Ames vacant vet clinic in Douglas that was previously offered by HSSA. Dr. Neal has a great time working with pot-bellied pigs doing spay and neuter surgery for the Ironwood Pig Sanctuary and would love to continue to help pot-bellied pigs in our community. She will also work on ferrets and perform spay and neuter on rabbits. Dr. Neal and her husband (Charles) and kids (Madalaine, 10, and William, 8) share their home with six shelter cats (Gryt, Biscuit, Smokey, Jin, King, and Pumpkin) and three shelter dogs (Lucky Dog, Skittles, and Cheetoh).
