Veterinarian Overview
Associate Veterinarian Dr. Katie Spoo has provided high-quality care for pets since 2009. A native of Charleston, Illinois, Dr. Spoo attended Eastern Illinois University and received her bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences in 2004. She continued her veterinary education at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. Exotic pet care—especially for fish and reptiles—and surgery are among her many professional interests.Dr. Spoo enjoys a number of hobbies in her spare time and can often be found geocaching, visiting zoos, roller blading and ice skating. She is a huge fan of Eastern Illinois Panther football and the Indianapolis Colts. She also enjoys writing and painting pottery, and has recently begun instruction in Taekwondo.Her home is filled with pets and her animal companions include a pair of chihuahuas named Lydia and Newt, a cat named Eleanor Peabody, a bearded dragon named Pai, a king snake named Seamus, a ball python named Dash, a leopard gecko named Zizou, and a puffer fish named Mr. Kite.
