Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Whitlark graduated from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. She received the Outstanding Senior Student awards in Radiology, Internal Medicine and Exotic/Wildlife Medicine, which echo her professional interests.In vet school she was president of the beloved Turtle Rescue Team, which treats injured and sick native turtles and returns them into the wild. She also spent time treating sea turtles at the coast, endangered whooping cranes in Maryland and the animals at the North Carolina Zoo during her fourth year. Following graduation Dr. Whitlark completed a rotating small animal medicine internship at Carolina Veterinary Specialists. Her name during her internship was Dr. Duncan, but has recently married the love of her life and is now proudly Dr. Whitlark! Dr. Whitlark is excited to stay in Charlotte with her husband, their rescued weimaraner (Dakota), their rescued australian shepard (Layla) and their rescued cat (Moose). When she is away from the clinic Dr. Whitlark enjoys hiking, playing lacrosse, yoga, gardening and traveling.
