Veterinarian Overview
Helena is a native to Arizona and was raised outside of Flagstaff in a small rural community where she grew up with horses, dogs, and chickens. While growing up she quickly became interested in horses and before long had her very own horse. Over the years she worked with a trainer and became a very experienced rider. She completed her bachelors degree in Animal Sciences at the University of Arizona in 2012. While at the U of A, she developed an interest in backyard livestock and enjoyed taking courses in herd health management, nutrition, and reproduction of livestock. She then attended veterinary school at Western University of Health Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine where she focused primarily on equine medicine. In her free time, Helena enjoys spending time outside with her husband Justin, their cattle dog Dixie, and their two horses Dessie and Deedee. Her primary areas of interest include preventative medicine, hoof care/lameness, reproduction and animal nutrition.
