Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Oetke received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 2008. After graduation she completed a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Animal Referral and Emergency Center of Arizona (ARECA) in Mesa and has practiced veterinary medicine around the Valley every since. She has indulged her passion for exotic animals and wildlife by spending two summers in Alaska working with stranded marine mammals at the Alaska SeaLife Center in Seward and one summer in England. Over the years Dr. Oetke has been adopted by several furry friends of the feline persuasion, while volunteering for animal shelters locally and abroad. After moving around a lot Dr. Oetke has finally made Chandler, Arizona her home which she shares with her husband, Scott, their four cats Don Juan de Gato, Penguino (both rescued while volunteering at a shelter in Mexico), Puca, and Aiden. Two chinchillas, Dustin and Nibbler, complete the family. Outside of work, Dr. Oetke enjoys spending time with her hubby and her pets, as well as playing the piano and the violin, hiking, traveling and exploring the outdoors. She also tries to go scuba diving whenever possible.
