Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Erin McCarty has been working in the veterinary field since the age of 13. When she was 5, she watched a colic surgery on a horse and knew without a doubt that she wanted to be a veterinarian. She earned he Bachelor of Science in Genetics at UC Davis and went on to pursue her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine there as well. While attending school, she worked as a veterinary technician and as a tutor to other veterinary students, graduating with Honors in 2010. Her veterinary interests include preventative medicine, internal medicine, surgery, and emergency medicine to name a few. While in school she donated many weekends spaying feral cats for "Fix our Ferals" in Fairfield and Oakland. Volunteering at the Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) in Walnut Creek she gained internal medicine and surgery experience. Dr. McCarty enjoys spending time with her husband and their numerous rescue animals. She has a passion for horseback riding and has developed a special bond with a rescued palomino Morgan named ?Ashwin.? As a team, the two have accomplished so much. Other hobbies include hiking, gardening, home improvement, and traveling. She is excited to rejoin the Goldorado family and offer high quality medicine and friendly service as one of their "other family doctors.
