Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Lena Stuart was raised in Canada and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Alberta. She then went on to receive a Masters degree in Immunology, and has worked in biomedical research for several years before obtaining her veterinary degree from Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Stuart completed a one-year small animal rotating internship at the VCA Veterinary Referral Center in Sacramento. Her interests include internal medicine, surgery, clinical pathology and providing compassionate care to her patients. Geriatric medicine is of particular interest to her. She also likes to give back to the community and participates in the Feral Cat Coalition, a spay-neuter-return program for feral cats in San Diego county. Outside of work, Dr. Stuart greatly enjoys the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, photography and other adventures with her husband, daughter and their dog Maggie, a Scottie.
