Veterinarian Overview
Jeff was born into a family of animal lovers in southern California, but spent most of his youth in Sylvania, Ohio. He returned to California and completed undergraduate studies at UC Davis, majoring in Biochemistry. In 1991 he was accepted into the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. He graduated in 1995 with an emphasis on small animal medicine. With a natural talent for surgery, he went to work at Bradshaw Veterinary Clinic in Elk Grove, handling a high caseload of both surgical and medical patients. He and his partner, Dr. Claudia Sonder, purchased Napa Valley Veterinary Hospital, Inc. in 2001, after working for Jim and Patty Latham as Associates. Dr. Northrup has a special way with dogs and cats. He believes in excellent one-on-one care, which fosters the personal, individualized atmosphere at NVVH. In his spare time, Dr. Northrup studies Martial Arts and hones his skills in computer technology.
