Dr. Grindle graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. Awards and Accomplishments Veterinary School Years: Founding President of the Veterinary School Dental Club International Veterinary Student Association representative Volunteered with the cruelty investigators at the Capital Area Humane Society in Columbus, Ohio Provided medical care in underprivileged Indian reservations through the Humane Societys Rural Animal Veterinary Services (RAVS) program. Years in Veterinary Practice: Dr. Grindle began her career in veterinary medicine as a veterinary assistant more than 10 years ago. Prior to veterinary school, she spent her time volunteering with local rescues and programs to help reduce pet overpopulation. She has also traveled abroad with Animal Welfare organizations to provide veterinary services to underprivileged communities within the United States and in third world countries. Experience: Dr. Grindle has had additional training outside of veterinary school in animal dentistry, sterilization surgeries and is one of a handful of veterinarians in San Diego that is Zeuterin certified. She also regularly trains other veterinarians in surgical feline sterilization techniques, and has a great deal of experience in handling fearful and stressed animals. Philosophy: Happiness is an armful of kittens. I believe that veterinary medicine is a partnership between a veterinarian, your pet and his/her family. My goal is to provide multiple options for treatment and then together we can determine what options will work best for your pet and your family. Communication is one of the most important tools we have. Family: Dr. Grindle met her husband as an undergrad at UCSD and has spent more than a decade enriching his life with a flurry of foster animals. He in turn has sensibly kept her from turning their home into a zoo. They currently share their lives with a very spoiled 10 year old mixed breed named Ava who has been their constant companion on cross country road trips, the ring bearer at their wedding, and regularly helps Dr. Grindle raise orphaned kittens and chickens. They recently added their first 2 legged human child to their family last October and all of them are graciously allowed to reside in the home by the 4 resident cats: Monster, Avery, Mouse, and Ivy (2 of which are foster failures). Future Goals: Dr. Grindle plans to continue her work with underprivileged communities in the US and abroad by providing humane solutions to the pet overpopulation crisis. She will continue to work closely with some of her favorite groups such as Animal Balance and San Diegos Feral Cat Coalition. In addition to this she plans on returning to the Humane Societys RAVS organization as an instructor in order to teach and inspire new generations of veterinarians to use their skills and passion to improve the lives of companion animals.
