Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Skinner was born and raised in Palm Beach County. He attended Lake Worth Community High School (GO Trojans!!). As a child he could almost always be found at the beach, surfing or spending time with friends. As a young man Dr. Skinner joined the Florida Army National Guard and in 2004 was deployed to Afganistan for a year. It was there that Dr. Skinner found his interest in medicine. Upon returning home Dr. Skinner combined his newfound interest in medicine with his love for animals and decided on a career in Veterinary Medicine. He began persuing his goal by working in a veterinary clinic, in his own words I was lucky enough to work for Dr. Patty Forsythe at All Paws as an assistant, which only increased my passion for the profession. Since leaving All Paws to obtain an education to complete his goal, Dr. Skinner attended Florida Atlantic University and graduated Cum Laude with a degree in psychobiology. His Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree was obtained at North Carolina State University. During his tenure at North Carolina State he received the award for Excellence in junior surgery as well as the AAHA award for proficiency in primary care. His professional interests include surgery, geriatric care, clinical pathology, ultrasound and internal medicine. On a personal note: Dr. Skinner enjoys spending time with his wife and fur family, two dogs, Trouble and Namani (aka: Nugget). He also enjoys staying fit at the gym, playing basketball and surfing. Depending on the season he can be found rooting for the Florida teams, Dolphins, Hurricanes, Heat and Marlins.
