Veterinarian Overview
I originally came from a small, suburban town 20 miles outside of Boston, Massachusetts. My undergraduate degree was in engineering from the University of Rochester in NY. After working in the engineering field for 12 years, I decided that I wanted to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian. After taking the necessary classes at night, I applied and was accepted to Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine in western Massachusetts. I graduated in 2000 and moved to Florida. I worked as a relief and part time doctor for some of the time, but most notably, spent more than 12 years working at Emerald Hills Animal Hospital in Hollywood. With the experience I gained over the last 15 years, I finally decided it was time to strike out on my own and open a practice that would reflect my philosophies regarding patient care and business ethics.I currently live in Davie with my beautiful wife, Pam (who tutors and runs Dachshund Rescue), and my college age daughter, Iyanna (she makes the deanÂ’s list every semester!). I have an adult daughter who lives nearby and has made me very proud with her graduate degree and her strong work ethic. We also share our home with 6 dogs, 9 cats, and 3 horses. In addition to those animals, we also will have several foster dogs from the rescue group staying in our home or barn. ItÂ’s a veritable menagerie here at the Weiner home!
