Veterinarian Overview
Hi, Im Dr. Scot Trefz. I am the Veterinarian/Medical Director and sole owner of Bay Moorings Animal Hospital that I purchased on May 6, 2013. I look forward to meeting you and your furry children very soon! I am committed to providing the very best veterinary care at affordable prices for your four legged family members in a compassionate, warm and family oriented environment while exceeding clients expectations of customer service; just as I and my team have done in Northern Pinellas for over 24 years at Gulf Bay Animal Hospital in Clearwater, a practice I recently sold to return to St. Pete. I was born in Lakeland and my family moved to St. Petersburg where I grew up. I graduated from Canterbury High School where my name is proudly the first to be adorned on Canterburys gymnasium wall recognizing past top scholar athletes. I then went directly to UF for my undergraduate study where I was accepted early into UFs College of Veterinary Medicine. In recognition ranking in the top 5% of my veterinary class, I was admitted as a junior into the College of Veterinary Medicines Honor Society, Phi Zeta, in 1984. I was bestowed the surgical excellence award for my senior veterinary class and graduated with honors on June 1, 1985. I had the privilege and honor to have had the late Dr. Bill Goldston as a mentor. Dr. Goldston hired me as a teenager to assist at his veterinary clinic. He is the reason I am a veterinarian today. I owe quite a lot to Bill. I recently relocated to Tierra Verde with my fiancée, Karen who helps on the admin and marketing side of our clinic, and our 2 cats, Chappy and Munchkin. Over the last few years, we lost our 3 canine sons, an American Bull, a Doberman and a Lab, all to old age. A puppy may be in our near future
