Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Maedel was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. She knew from a young age that she was meant to be a veterinarian. She vividly recalls learning the word and knowing instantly that it was her lifes calling. Her favorite part of working at Northeast Animal Hospital is her relationships with the clients and staff, and the high quality of medicine. Her veterinary interests include dermatology, feline internal medicine, and ultrasound. Jarrett-JetSkiJarrett-CrabShellDr. Maedel earned her B.S. at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, where she majored in Biology while captaining the varsity soccer team and performing clinical research. She then attended Auburn Universitys College of Veterinary Medicine, earning her DVM in 2012. She practiced in both Kentucky and Indiana before settling in St. Petersburg with her husband, Andrew. img_maedel_pets1img_maedel_pets2She and Andrew have a tiny, feisty kitty named Mama Cat and a sweet goldendoodle named Leeloo. In her spare time, Hillary enjoys being on the water, reading, and playing soccer.
