Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Frandsens journey as a veterinarian began when he was a small child in the 50s, when he visited the San Diego Zoo with his family and rode on the back of a Galapagos tortoise. His interest in animals of all species only grew from there. He spent many days of his childhood catching critters, wishing they were his pets, and watching Jacque Cousteau TV specials. In 8th grade, he helped his cousin take a Black Angus calf to the county fair and watched it get crowned as Grand Champion! As he grew older, he became captivated by the human-pet bondspecifically with dogs and catsand hated seeing pets sick or injured. It was then that he decided to pursue veterinary medicine as a career, after his best friends mother made the suggestion. He earned his DVM from Iowa State University years later and moved to Fort Lauderdale after graduation, where hes lived ever since. His wife and kids also love animals, so his house has always had many pets. After decades of dedication to pets of the Fort Lauderdale area, Dr. Frandsen retired in 2012. However, he quickly found himself missing all of the feline and canine friends at the hospital, so his wife encouraged him to get back into practice...and in 2015, he did! Its been a great journey for him, and he prays that he will meet more interesting pets and people in this phase of it.
