Veterinarian Overview
Born and raised in nearby Deerfield, Dr. Andrew Cox attended Colgate University before obtaining his D.V.M. degree in 1985 from the University of Illinois. After completing a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Cornell University, Dr. Cox returned to Illinois, and along with his wife, veterinarian Dr. Geri Cox, opened River Trails Animal Hospital in Riverwoods in 1987, All Creatures Animal Hospital in Lake Zurich in 1991, and Green Tree Animal Hospital in Libertyville in 1996. Despite drastically overextending themselves professionally, the Coxes somehow managed to raise 4 children (or did they raise themselves?), enjoy a variety of treasured furry, feathered, and finned family members, and stay active in the community.As a skilled surgeon and practitioner, Dr. Cox is driven by the desire to provide highest quality patient care. He has devoted his career to creating a hospital environment that is friendly, light-hearted and client-centered, but equipped for and intensely focused on exceptional state-of-the-art medical and surgical service. He enjoys tackling the tremendous variety of challenges that are presented daily.
