Veterinarian Overview
?Dr. Melissa Maurer-Ford grew up in Nebraska, but hails most recently from Wisconsin where she obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2008 from the University of Wisconsin- Madison. She worked for 7 years in Southwestern Wisconsin, before relocating to the greater Chicago area with her husband and twin boys. She joined the Animal Medical Center team in July of 2015. Her special interests include soft tissue surgery, medicine, food therapy, and behavior. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association. Along with her husband and two sons, her family also includes a dog: Mouse, a cat: Pip and several fish. When not working, Dr. Maurer-Ford enjoys spending time with her family, camping, canoeing, hiking, reading and gardening. Her ongoing goals include continuous professional improvement and compassionate care.
