Dr. Nicole A. LaNasa is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. She received an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from the University of New Orleans in 1998. That same year she was accepted into Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. She was active with many of the schools committees and activities, and in May 2002, she received her DVM. After graduating, Dr. LaNasa moved to Round Rock, Texas, where she worked as an associate at Animal Care Clinic for the next year and a half. She married her husband Keith in October 2002. Wanting to be closer to home, they returned to Louisiana in January 2004 and she began working at Highland Road Animal Hospital in Baton Rouge. Dr. LaNasa remained there until February 2008 when she became a member of the Sherwood South family. She enjoys all aspects of canine and feline medicine and surgery, but has a deep interest in dermatology. She is a member of the AVMA, LVMA, and BRAVMA. For many years, she has been an active member in the Junior League of Baton Rouge and feels rewarded in knowing she is giving back to her community through volunteer work. In her spare time she enjoys canvas painting, decorating, digital photography and gardening. She and her husband love teaching and raising their two daughters. They have one dog, a Rhodesian Ridgeback named Porter.
