Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Amy Krauss Mead received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Public Policy degree from Indiana University in Bloomington Indiana, and her DVM from Purdue University. She practiced in Indianapolis and Bloomington, Indiana before moving to the Twin Cities, where she worked at another practice before joining Keller Lake Animal Hospital. Her special interests include Internal and Feline Medicine. She is also interested in Animal Welfare issues.Dr. Mead is a member of the AVMA, the MVMA, AAFP (American Association of Feline Practitioners), and the AAHA. She has served on the AVMA's Committee on Environmental Issues in Veterinary Medicine, AAHA's Leadership Council, and the MVMA's Small Animal Welfare Committee. She has also volunteered with the Humane Society of the United States.Dr. Mead is married to her husband Tim, who is a professor at the University of St. Thomas. They share their home with their dog Beatrice, and 8 kitties: Maxine, Aggie, Cece, Bailey, Lucy, Butters, Curly and Ocho. In her spare time, Dr. Mead likes to travel, hike (especially with Beatrice), compete in open water swimming races, bicycle, and cook.
