Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Gasiorowski graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Following graduation he completed an internship at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital, followed by a 3-year surgical residency at the University of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center. Prior to joining the Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center team in 2013, Dr. Gasiorowski worked at the New Bolton Center. During his tenure there he received teaching awards and the prestigious Charles W. Raker surgery award. He was awarded diplomate status by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) in 2012. Dr. Gasiorowski's clinical interests include orthopedic and upper respiratory surgery, lameness diagnosis and nuclear scintigraphy. He is also interested in the transitioning of thoroughbred racehorses to second careers. Most recently, Dr. Gasiorowski has been focusing on the development of surgical techniques in the standing (not anesthetized) horse. At the American College of Veterinary Surgeons annual symposium, he presented on thermogenesis during drilling in equine bone and computed tomography (CT scan)-assisted fracture fixation. He is also published in peer-reviewed journals and has contributed to books on equine medicine. An active sports enthusiast since he was young, Dr. Gasiorowski enjoys rowing, skiing, and the outdoors and spends all his free time with his wife Brooke and sons Calvin and Gabriel.
