Very disappointing. I brought my dog to Frisco Emergency Pet Care and was treated by Dr. Wyatt. One day, Flash was a normal, happy dog. He had is yearly check up a month before with a clean bill of health. With no warning, he became extremely ill. Pain behavior. Lethargy. Vomitting, First he quit eating then he quit drinking. He was in pain when picked up. We brought in to Frisco Frisco Emergency Pet Care and was treated by Dr. Wyatt. So did a physical exam and drew blood, noting that his liver enzymes, leukocytes, and neutrophils were extremely elevated. We indicated that there was no possibility of injury or eating something bad for him. She noted he was dehyated. She said she could do an xray or sonogram but there were very expensive and would be less expensive at my doctor's office, intimating that there was not sufficient urgency to perform them now, so I took her advice and decited to wait. She gave him meds for the nausea and fluids for the dehygration. I took Flash to my vet the following day, as instructed by Dr. Wyatt, who did not have a sonogram machine but did an xray, thining there was a shadow in the stomach region, suggesting Flash had ingested sometihng. Surgery was performed where 'stew' was found in his abdomen...turned out the stew was the a gall bladd mucoceal, with a ruptrued gall bladder. My vet couldn't identify the source, sewed Flash up, and sent us, with him in critical condition, to the CVSEC in Lewisville, where the actual problem was diagnoses. He was septic and 50/50 and we admitted him where he had around the clock intensive care. After 12 hours he was stabiizing to the point where he could have surgery but threw a clot and died instantly as the abdominal sonogram in prep for surgery was being done. When I went back to Frisco Emergecy Pet Care to ask why a sonogram wasn't done, I was told that one had been done. I think this was a cya lie because 1) Dr. Wyatt never told me she did one and provided no results, 2) there was no bill for it, 3) there were no saved images, and the Chief of Staff said they always saved images. Bottom line is, in my opinion, this was an emergency and Dr. Wyatt completely missed the obvious signs of a GBM. Her misdiagnosis, in my opinion, cost my dog his life. Had she actually recognized that this was a life threatneing emergency, properly communitied that to me, and subsequently done the proper examination, my dog would likely be alive today as he would have had emergency surgery on Sunday rather than Tuesday, and likely would have become septic due to the delay. This was not a matter of me wanting to save money by having a sono done at my regular vet's office, as I ended up spending $4000 at CVSEC to try to save Flash's life. This happened October 27, 2019 and I have neither forgotten nor forgiven Dr. Wyatt, as she has never taken responsibility, despite having been given opportunity to do so, for her poor care. The above is not intended to opine that Dr. Wyatt is globally incompetent as an emergency care provider. Rather, these are the facts with my experience with her, and they are not in dispute.
