Veterinarian Overview

Dr. Rose was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her love of animals was evident from an early age, and her favorite childhood pets included roly-polies, horned toads and hamsters. Horses came next; during high school and college, Dr. Rose was an avid hunter-jumper competitor. She traveled the country competing at the national level with her horse, Bonafide. Dr. Rose graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas with a BachelorÍs degree in Biology. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1996, graduating first in her class from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She obtained her first Diplomate status from the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners with a specialty in Canine and Feline Practice in 2003. She then obtained her second Diplomate status from the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners with a specialty in Feline Practice in 2012. She became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist in 2009. Her areas of interest include feline medicine, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (acupuncture, herbology, food therapy). Dr. Rose is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and the Harris County Veterinary Medical Association (Past-President). In addition, she is a member of the Veterinary Information Network, the American Animal Hospital Association, the International Association of Veterinary Pain Management, the American Association of Feline Practitioners, the Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice, and the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture. Dr. Rose was a founding board member of Friends for Life No Kill Shelter. When not at Memorial-610, Dr. Rose is very dedicated to her husband and two children. She has two cats, Posen and Wisp, who found her family at just the right time. An avid distance runner, triathlete, swimmer, and self-proclaimed chocoholic, Dr. RoseÍs other accomplishments include completing Ironman Texas, two finishes at the famous Escape from Alcatraz triathlon, two Boston Marathons, and scores of other marathons, triathlons, and similar events of voluntary torture.
