Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Charlie Mc Donald was born and raised in Texas. He attended Jefferson High School and was a noted athlete that excelled at football, lettering all four years. He continued his football career at Lamar University and then again at Texas A & M in 1949. For the next three years he played defensive back for the fightingÍTexas Aggies while he earned his B.S. in Animal Husbandry. When he graduated in 1952, Dr. Mc Donald became a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force and served his time in the Strategic Air Command division. He returned to Texas A & M in 1955 and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1959. Dr. Mc Donald established Rose-Rich Veterinary Clinic in 1964 at the original location and then partnered with Dr. Tucker Robinson in 1966. They later moved the practice to 2203 Thompson Rd. where it has remained. Dr. Mc Donald presently handles the large animal portion of the practice. Dr. Mc Donald was elected and served in six offices of the executive board leading to his election as president of the 1600 member Texas Veterinary Medical Association in 1976. Other honors include: 1983 recipient of the TVMA Distinguished Achievement Award, 1988 TVMDL Diagnostician of the Year, and 2005 Outstanding Alumni Award from Texas A & M. Dr. Mc Donald and wife, Barbara have three children and six grandchildren. They have been active members of St. TheresaÍs Catholic Church in Sugar Land since 1976. In his spare time Dr. Mc Donald likes to fish.
