Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Beckham is a native Houstonian. He earned a B.S. degree in Animal Science from Prairie View A&M University and was commissioned through ROTC in the United States Army upon his graduation in 1986. He served in the U.S. Army Engineer Corps both Active and Reserves. Dr. Beckham later earned his Veterinary Degree from Tuskegee University in 1993 and, soon after, completed an internship in Small Animal Surgery and Medicine at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. Dr. Beckham returned to the Army and served in the Army Veterinary Corps. Before joining SLVS in 2015, he worked for two large Veterinary Medical Groups as Medical Director for the Houston Market. Spending time with his family, visiting the family farm, fishing the Texas Bay Systems and volunteering his time to various groups is how Dr. Beckham enjoys his time outside of work.
