Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Colleen Orta graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. She studied Equine Business management with a minor in Biology at St. Andrews College in Laurinburg, North Carolina before attending veterinary school. She has worked full time as a small animal general practitioner for the past three years, and was on the relief staff here at VVERC for over a year before coming on full time. Her interests within veterinary medicine include emergency and critical care, clinical pathology, and diagnostic imaging. She is a big advocate of animal rescue and spay/neuter programs. She and her husband have four dogs, two horses, and a guinea pig named Matilda. In her spare time, she rides and competes her horses in the fun sport of eventing, and also enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her family.
