He was accepted at Louisiana State University and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1988. He worked in Front Royal, Virginia and Conway, Arkansas before returning to his hometown of Harrison in 1992. In 1996 he married his wife Lisa and now have two daughters and a son.
