Dr. Lopez's experience, however, extends well beyond that. Growing up on a farm in a small town, he began riding horses around the time he learned how to walk. On his family's land, he loved and cared for animals of all sorts: cows, chickens, homing pigeons, bunnies, and his best canine friend, Rio. Eventually, Dr. Lopez went to agriculture school, and spent years learning about veterinary care for farm animals. Following his degree in agriculture, Dr. Lopez attended veterinary school, received his degree, and went on to practice at emergency veterinary hospitals in Orange County and Los Angeles. He always knew that he wanted to open his own animal hospital, and in 2003, this dream became a reality. Brookhurst Animal Medical Center opened its doors, and Dr. Lopez has provided loving care ever since. Dr. Lopez specializes in care for dogs, cats, and exotics. His role in Nat Geo Mundo's television show "Dr. Vet LA" allowed him to show his skills treating animals like tigers and elephants; at home at Brookhurst Animal Medical Center, the pets are usually tamer, but Dr. Lopez can adapt his knowledge to all different types of animals. Dr. Lopez uses state of the art equipment so that he can provide state of the art care to your pets.
