Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Sheila Chen obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ohio State University in 1999 and has been practicing small animal medicine in the Bay Area ever since. She was a general practitioner in Palo Alto and eventually returned to her hometown of Castro Valley in 2008. Dr. Chen's special interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, preventative medicine and dentistry. She understands the importance of listening to and educating clients about the diagnostic and therapeutic treatment options available for our furry friends. When not working, Dr. Chen enjoys competitive water skiing, snowboarding, hiking and many other outdoor activities. She shares her home with her 13-year old rescued yellow Labrador Retriever "Corona" and her 14- year old rescued cat named "Bartholo-MEOW.
