Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Kira and her husband, Dr. Steve Dennis, purchased Chico Animal Hospital from Dr. Craig Callen when he retired January of 2018. She has been practicing veterinary medicine since graduating from the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. Since graduation, Dr. Kira has lived and practiced in Phoenix Arizona, Davis, upstate New York, San Luis Obispo, Goleta and San Rafael. She is so happy to finally put down permanent roots and make Chico her forever home. Additionally, she and Dr. Dennis are thrilled to fulfill their shared dream of owning a veterinary practice, and look forward to serving the pets of Chico and getting to know their 2-legged friends. Dr. Kira's interests include soft tissue surgery, ultrasound and dentistry. In addition to cats and dogs, she also works with rabbits, rodents and other small furry critters. When not at the clinic, you may find Dr. Kira running, reading or riding a motorcycle. In addition to a husband, she lives with 3 cats, 7 tarantulas, and a boa constrictor she has had since vet school.
