Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Magda Szyrmer was born in Poland but grew up in Philadelphia. She loved animals from a young age and grew up in a household with many pets including dogs, rabbits, birds and cats. She completed her undergraduate degree at Princeton University, and afterwards followed her lifelong dream to become a veterinarian by attending and graduating from the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary school in 2009. Soon after graduation, she became interested in holistic medicine, and pursued the IVAS acupuncture certification. Her main interests include nutritional therapy and alternative treatments. She is currently writing a book on how to make complete, and balanced home-cooked diets for dogs. Dr. Szyrmer believes in an integrative approach and will use conventional treatments where necessary, but will also integrate acupuncture, Chinese and Western herbs, flower essences, homeopathy, Standard Process supplements, and nutritional therapy into many of her protocols.
