Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Linda J. Larsen is a board-certified small animal surgeon who visits different hospitals weekly to perform non-routine surgical procedures, allowing clients and patients the expertise of a surgery specialist in the familiar facility of their regular veterinary practice. She received her doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM) degree from the University of Minnesota, college of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. She continued her advanced training through a one year rotating medicine and surgery internship at Texas A&M University, College of Veterinary Medicine; followed by a three year surgery residency and Master of Science (MS) degree program at Kansas State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. Upon completion of her residency Dr. Larsen accepted a one year clinical instructorship position at the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine where she trained residents, interns and students in small animal surgery. She then returned home to California and entered private referral practice in 1999, and continued in private referral practice in the Southern California area until November 2006. Pacific Veterinary Surgery Services (PVSS), Dr. Larsen's mobile surgery practice, was established in 2006 by Dr. Larsen herself to improve and/or prolong the quality of life for dogs and cats through quality surgery services, which are provided in the comfort and security of the general practitioner's hospital. She has been a surgery specialist with us since 2008.
