Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Kwon serves as medical director and hospital owner of Olympic Pet Hospital. He obtained his veterinary medical degree from Seoul National University in South Korea in 1977. He completed an internship at Agoura Animal Clinic and Humphrey, Giacopuzzi, and Associates Equine Hospital in 1988. Dr. Kwon established Valley Lyons Pet Hospital in Newhall, CA in 1992. He dedicated 23 years to serving the animals and pet owners in the Santa Clarita Valley. He opened Olympic Pet Hospital in 2010 in efforts to provide more accessible veterinary care near Koreatown.Dr. Kwon was awarded “Best Veterinarian” by the Daily News of Los Angeles in 2003. He has served on the board of trustees for the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association. He is a proud member of the California Veterinary Medicine Association. He is a member and former president of the Korean Veterinary Society of America and a member of the Korean Veterinary Association of Southern California.Dr. Kwon has a special interest in dentistry. He has attended the Western Conference in Las Vegas, the CVC San Diego conference, the UC Davis conference, and other local seminars in order to remain up-to-date with the latest medical developments.During his free time, Dr. Kwon enjoys deep-sea fishing, golfing, hiking, and reading. He climbed Gillman Point (18,500 ft.), Mount Kilimanjaro in 2008. Dr. Kwon is fluent in Korean and English.
