Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Jennifer Gabriele recently moved from Brooklyn, New York to Los Angeles, California with her husband, Anthony, terrier mix Frances, Oedipus her vision impaired cat, and Ivy, the green cheeked conure. Jennifer is not unfamiliar with West Coast living. Raised in Queens, New York, she ended up attending college at the University of California, Davis. After college, Jennifer attended veterinary school at Ross University, located on the island of Saint Kitts, in the West Indies. The final year of her veterinary program, was spent at Oklahoma State University. After graduation, Jennifer did an externship for 2 months, in Atlanta, Georgia at a mixed TCM and Western veterinary practice named Loving Touch Animal Center. From there she settled back home in NYC, and worked at a busy small animal practice in the Chelsea neighborhood in Manhattan, from 2001 to 2016, taking a year sabbatical, at the SF Spca in San Francisco in 2006. Jennifer has experience with Western and Chinese Herbal medicine, and does like to incorporate many therapies with traditional Western treatments. With a very heavy heart, saying good bye to family, great colleagues and co-workers, Jennifer and her husbands decision to move to Los Angeles was to enjoy a different environment, life style, and to be able to participate in the beauty of California more often, after many years in NYC. Jennifer enjoys hiking, camping, gardening, bicycling, road trips, beading necklaces, preparing vegan dinners, Halloween, following Morrissey on tour as often as possible, listening to all types of music, is an amateur photographer and also is a member of the LA 3D stereoscopic society. Jennifer also hopes to live and practice veterinary medicine on the Big Island of Hawaii one day; one of the most special places on Earth. Jennifer is also starting part-time work with the LA Aspca, and enjoys devoting some of her veterinary work to community medicine, community outreach, spay/neuter programs, and to animal rescue.
