Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Ilsi Medearis graduated from the University of California at Davis school of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. Two decades of practice in the setting of western based small animal emergency and critical care allowed her to appreciate the benefit of conventional Western Veterinary Medical techniques, particularly with respect to specific diagnosis and emergent treatment of various disease conditions. With her immersion in conventional medicine, however, Dr. Medearis also began recognizing its limitations, particularly with respect to long-term quality of life issues and support of the bodys own healing process and immune defense. Dr. Medearis has always had an interest in Traditional Chinese medicine and philosophy, and became certified as a Mixed Animal Acupuncture practitioner through the Chi Institute in Florida. She has continued to pursue extensive acupuncture training as well as training in Chinese Herbology and food therapy through the Chi Institute. Her passion is to promote more wide-spread, effective integration of Eastern and Western medical practices in veterinary medicine.
