Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Marla Saltzman was born and raised on the East Coast. She attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for her undergraduate degree, and went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis in 1991. Dr. Saltzman returned to San Diego and spent the majority of her career at a progressive, small animal general medicine and surgery specialty practice. She further enjoyed practicing in North County and in Downtown San Diego, until fulfilling her dream to open her own vet hospital. In 2013, she proudly opened Amici Pet Hospital of Little Italy, and couldn?t be happier to bring her vision of excellence in pet care to our community. Dr. Saltzman brings with her 25 years of veterinary experience, and her professional interests include internal medicine, dermatology, dentistry, and general surgery. --- Dr. Saltzman has been active in our San Diego community including volunteering for the San Diego Humane Society and local elementary schools, on behalf of our local veterinary association. She is an active member of the American, California, and San Diego County Veterinary Medical Associations, and was the Senior Veterinary Editor for Southern California Dog Magazine. Dr. Saltzman also contributed articles for the Downtown Dog Lover website and was the Past President of the PAWS Club for the Scripps Ranch Civic Association. Dr. Saltzman?s personal interests include running, aerobics, and hitting the gym. Her greatest joys are spending time with her family, her dog Champ and kitty Karly, and her large family of friends and pets she has come to know and love over the years.
