Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Alexa Jurak is native of Montreal, Canada; she moved to Florida as a child. Growing up she was very involved with competitive equestrian sports and did very well in the Jumper circuit. Although she had an opportunity to compete at the Grand Prix levels, Dr. Jurak decided to follow her passion for animal sciences and graduated with a biology degree from Elon University. She continued to earn her DVM at Saint Matthews in the Cayman Islands. During her clinical rotations realized that she loved working with companion animals. Dr. Jurak has an undeniable strong work ethic- while working full time at a busy six doctor practice in Florida, she also worked overnight shifts to support a local practice. Dr Jurak is excited to bring her expertise in internal medicine, dermatology and surgery to Mohnacky Animal Hospitals. She is excited to build long term relationships with her clients. Dr. Jurak currently serves as Chief Veterinarian at our Vista location. In her free time Dr. Jurak enjoys riding her horses, ballroom dancing, playing with her two dogs and traveling.
