Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Marc Silverman is co-owner of Agoura Animal Clinic. Although born in Columbus, Ohio, he grew up in southern California surrounded and influenced by the sciences and medicine. Dr. Silvermans grandfather was an analytical chemist, his father is an internal medicine human physician, and his brother is a respected human radiologist. However, unlike his familys pathway, Dr. Silverman pursued his medical dreams focusing toward the animal kingdom. Since childhood, he worked and volunteered at pet shops, animal shelters, veterinary clinics, and the U.C.L.A. Leo G. Rigler Center for Radiologic Research as preparation for honing the skills he puts into practice each day. Dr. Silverman passionately enjoys serving the animals and people that request his medical assistance. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Los Angeles and received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 1984. Dr. Silverman went on to attend Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1989 along with being elected to the Society of Phi Zeta, the honor society of Veterinary Medicine. He is a member of a number of professional organizations such as the California Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association, and has passionately participated in many of the local communitys activities and groups. Since arriving at the Agoura Animal Clinic in 1990, Dr. Silverman has been very active in the local schools and youth groups, participating in career days, helping Girl and Boy Scout troops earn special badges, and giving group tours of his hospital to many children of the community. When not at Agoura Animal Clinic, he spends his spare time devoted to his pursuit of his second degree black belt ranking in Tang So Do Karate, his love of music performance and recording, and his family. He and his wife, Liz, are the proud parents of two children, Michelle and Erin. The four-legged members of their family include two Labrador Retrievers named Homer and Reggie, and a Golden Retriever named Mollie.
