Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Anita Holt, VMD joined the Heron Creek Animal Hospital in August of 2013 after closing my AAHA accredited practice, Pampered Pet Health Center, in Port Charlotte . I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical School in 1990 making this year my 25th year in practice. I consider myself fortunate to have been a resident of Charlotte County for 24 years. Since 2000 I have practiced Integrative veterinary medicine for small animals incorporating acupuncture, homotoxicology , Chinese herbal therapies and western medicinal herbs into their treatment which I have found improves the quality of their lives and extends their lives. I am very happy to be a part of an excellent, friendly, dedicated team at Heron Creek Animal Hospital and bring alternative therapy options to our clients for their pets. However I am especially grateful for those clients and their pets that I took care of in Port Charlotte who chose to follow me to Heron Creek Animal Hospital. Although my veterinary degree is from the University of Pennsylvania I am a diehard Florida Gator! I received my undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters degree from the University of Florida prior to starting veterinary school there. After my first year I transferred to the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School. Go Gators! In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my pets Paulie, Gabriel, and Frito. I also enjoy watching College Football, playing in a womens dart league, swimming, boating, spending time with good friends and traveling to new places.
