Dr. Magdalena Dominguez Lowery joined the veterinary team at Benning Animal Hospital in April of 2015.InspirationDr. Lowery hails originally from North Chicago, Illinois. She draws her professional inspiration from an abiding passion for all things natural - particularly issues related to theconversation of our ecosystems and wildlife. "I'd love someday to work as an ecotoxicologist, to help protect our environment and wildlife," Dr. Lowery says.EducatioDr. Lowery completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois in 2004, majoring in Primal Sciences and minoring in Chemistry. She earned her doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. Dr. Lowery also was a member of the 2006 Envirovet class, and completed an internship in 2009 at Animal Emergency Center in Glendale, Wisconsin,Professional InterestsAside from her passion for wildlife and ecological conservation, Dr. Lowery is professionally interested in emergency medicine.Personal InterestsIn her free time, Dr. Lowery enjoys spending time with her family, her husband, and their two sons. She also enjoys reading, baking ("Especially apple pies!" she says), and cooking all kinds of food. Dr. Lowery is all the proud pet parent to a dog named Sienna and a cat named Willis.
