Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Melissa Smith was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois. She graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996 where she also earned her Bachelors degree. She has worked part-time with Dr. Anderson since November of 2009. Her special interest is soft-tissue surgery. She lives in rural Atlanta, Illinois with her husband, Warren, and their two children, Tanner and Rachel. They are active members in the Atlanta Chrisitan Church and participate in many local activities. They have several pets including horses, goats, dogs, cats, hamsters and even chickens. She is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially outdoors, camping, fishing, riding horseback and playing on the ATVs.
