Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Nicole Gilbert grew up in the Chicago suburbs and earned her veterinary degree from the University of Illinois in 2011. After working several years at an equine ambulatory and surgical hospital in Hunterdon County NJ, she returned home to IL joining Dr. Powell at HEHC in March 2014. Dr. Gilberts areas of interest include emergency and critical care, lameness, ophthalmology, senior horse management and incorporating alternative therapies into general practice. As a child Dr. Gilbert lived overseas and enjoys international travel. In her spare time Dr. Gilbert likes to garden, trail ride, spend time on the lake and explore the back roads with her fiancé on their motorcycle.
