Veterinarian Overview
Russell grew up on his family's grain and livestock farm between New Athens and Freeburg, with his two brothers and three sisters, where his love and curiosity of animals developed and eventually led to his career. The family farm and various animals in his large extended family keeps him in touch with the daily husbandry of many species. He loves the small town atmosphere that AnRus Veterinary Clinic is able to provide to neighbors and friends, both the current and those yet to come... He enjoys being able to practice all aspects of veterinary medicine as a mixed animal vet, including after hours services for clients in times of need, but also the ability to work with specialists in the Metro-East on complex cases. It is gratifying to see clients "around town" and greet each other as friends. Russell is blessed to be living out his dream of being a mixed animal veterinarian, married to his beautiful wife, Angie, and having been able to raise his family of 8 children where he grew up. He invites those looking for the small town atmosphere, where you will see the same doctor and staff every visit, to come see us if you are in need of veterinary care for your pet.
