Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Sarah is a Long Island, New York native and it is here, while working with her dad (an equine veterinarian), that she fell in love with veterinary medicine. She spent her younger years working at the New York thoroughbred race tracks, Belmont, Aqueduct, and Saratoga Springs, but moved to North Carolina to get her Bachelors degree in Biology and Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. There she worked with all creatures great and small from sea turtles and zoo animals to dogs and cats. She then attended Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2012. After graduation she moved to Knightstown, Indiana with her husband who is a Knightstown native. She began working at The Heritage Clinic in 2015 to provide full-time small animal veterinary care to our clients. For Dr. Sarah, the relationship she develops with the pets she cares for and their families is the most rewarding aspect of veterinary medicine. "The heartfelt appreciation from family members for caring for their pets is why I continue doing what I do," she says.Dr. Sarah lives with her husband D.J., a veterinarian and cattleman, and her spoiled Great Dane Walter. When not in the clinic, Dr. Sarah is looking for new adventures and places to see with D.J. and Walter.
