Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Richard Mendoza was born and raised in Mcpherson, Kansas. He graduated Mcpherson High School and then attended Kansas State University for both a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation in 2004, Dr. Mendoza headed to Emporia and has been here since. He became a partner in 2013. Dr. Mendoza enjoys many aspects of Veterinary Medicine. Most of his day is filled with small animal medicine and surgery, but also is available for cattle and horse work as well as exotics. Currently Dr. Mendoza is the veterinarian for the David Traylor Zoo of Emporia and is a member of the Animal Care and Use Committee for Emporia State University. In his spare time, Dr. Mendoza enjoys spending time with his children, Emma and Daniel, and his wife, Amanda. The kids keep them both busy with 4-H activities and sports. He also enjoys wood working, gardening and traveling with the family.
