Veterinarian Overview
Dr. West is a native of Ruston, Louisiana and a graduate of Cedar Creek High School. She attended Louisiana Tech University on athletic scholarship as a member of the Lady Techsters basketball team from 1996-1998. Dr. West received her B.S. in animal science from Louisiana Tech in 2000 and graduated with honors from the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary medicine in 2003. After graduation, Dr. West began practicing small animal medicine as an associate at Magazine Street Animal Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 2004 she began a full-time associate position at Sherwood South Animal Hospital in Baton Rouge, La. In February 2011, Dr. West and her husband, Brian, left Baton Rouge to return home to northeast Louisiana to raise their beautiful daughters, Ava and Evelynn, surrounded by family. They are expecting their 3rd child in August of 2014. Dr. West is an active member of First United Methodist Church and currently a national Pfizer Veterinary speaker. Outside the workplace, Dr. Nicole enjoys playing tennis, running, and spending time with her friends and family. They have two spoiled pets; "Slick" the pug and "Anna Lou", a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
