Veterinarian Overview
Kelly Maxwell was raised in upstate New York and attended Boston University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. Her decision to become a veterinarian developed out of her compassion for animals and a love of science and physiology. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University in 2009. Following her graduation from veterinary school she completed a one year internship in emergency medicine that focused on both companion and exotic animal medicine. Dr. Maxwell continues to have a special interest in emergency medicine as well as endocrinology and dermatology. She is excited to join the Harbor Road team and also to enjoy the beauty of Maine. When she's not at Harbor Road Veterinary Hospital she can be found running, kayaking, camping, and hiking with her dogs. Dr. Maxwell's family includes her boyfriend, cat, three dogs, two finches, and several chickens.
