Veterinarian Overview
Sadie Scott was born and raised in Gardner, KS and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with an emphasis in Microbiology from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO. She went on to receive her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. During her last year of Veterinary School, Dr. Scott spent time with prominent veterinarians at the Animal Medical Center in New York City in both their Urology and Internal Medicine departments. She then spent her first year in practice working as a rotating Medicine and Surgery Intern at VCA Mission Animal Referral and Emergency Hospital in Mission, KS. After Dr. Scott finished her year-long internship with their veterinary specialists, she was hired as an Emergency Veterinarian and Intern Director at the same clinic. During her employment at VCA Mission, Dr. Scott worked closely with Courtney Thomas and Great Plains SPCA on patients that were transferred for specialty or emergency care. Dr. Scott was impressed by the mission of the organization and was invited for a tour of the facility; shortly thereafter she was offered and ultimately accepted the position at Great Plains SPCA as their Chief Veterinarian at the Merriam Campus and has since been intimately involved in the daily activities at the Veterinary Care Center. Dr. Scott and her husband have a houseful of English Bulldogs and a rotating door for medical fosters that need intensive round-the-clock care. Dr. Scott is currently the acting President of Be the Change Volunteers, and travels yearly to developing countries to build schools to further educational development in the world. In her spare time she enjoys camping, hiking, traveling, and spending time with the people she loves.
